Sydney’s Rap Heiress Kimchi Princi Shares Visuals For ‘Internet Friend’

Kimchi Princi has returned to her cyber realm with the drop of her new video ‘Internet Friends’ from her debut EP Just In My Room, Just On My Phone.

A local sydney gal, Kimchi draws her inspiration from day-to-day social interactions, high fashion and the blurred lines between cyber relationships and their real counterparts.

The video is a dreamy exploration of two girls in a female bathroom, starring Kimchi and a close high school friend Amy (@ilovebrucewillis) who meet for the first time IRL. It is the mindful work between Kimchi as well as Danielle Karlikoff who is pretty much Kimchi’s visual identity guru, having directed her videos in the past.

Paradoxically to the video itself, the song is actually quite relatable in a modern day social dynamic – telling a story of meeting someone from an online friendship and then the relationship falling flat (“You’re just my internet friend, so what? You’re not even hot”).

On a sonic level, the track – produced by eclectic Canberra based producer WA STE – floats along magically with Kimchi’s elegant, pitched vocals that compliment the dreamy synth and driving bass line.

It’s about time we started to see some independent girl power, where girl squads are taking over the industry! Be sure to check the video and maybe catch her at one of her shows, dates all below:
