Anyone else notice something blocking the sun? Yep, where in the Shadow of something BIG…
Shadow Child is Back and his latest body of work boasts an army of respected and revered produces, destined to round out a monster project. Our first glimpse into the forthcoming ‘Connected’ was a tracklist and release date, which at this stage is set to be October 14.
The tracklist is itself is making waves as collaborations with Bodhi, T Williams, Huxley, Ben Pearce, S.P.Y, Ashworth and Supertanker would indicate something special to come.
Annie Mac unleashed the first single on BBC Radio 1, ‘Um’, a love child with Bhodi which sets a tone, pace and atmospheric backdrop for the album. Key word, atmospheric. The two have created an organic, room filling warmth which carries throughout the tune. Most notable are delicious percussive nuances and subtleties which lay like a blanket on top of a resounding bass groove at the heart of the track.. This is a lights out, lay back sonic experience..
Being the gentleman he is, Shadow Child also includes on ‘Connected’ his remixes of Jaydee’s ‘Plastic Dreams’ and The Future Sound Of London’s ‘Papua New Guinea’.
My fancy has been tickled! Listen for yourself below.
