A previously unheard mix has popped up on the interwebs showcasing some of the private listenings of the late J Dilla.
The notorious Detroit producer will be celebrated once again come August 26 with the 10-year anniversary reissue of his album ‘The Shining’ as an exclusive 7″ box set, and as a pre-celebration gift to the fans, Boiler Room has unveiled a very rare mix of Dilla’s favourite tracks.
The 46-minute mix- titled Back To The Crib – is a jazzy, soulful and soothing culmination of tunes that really give insight into the musical tendencies of the legend himself. The mix is described as “what Jay Dee had blaring out of his speakers while on the sofa or by the MPC.”
