Long has been the wait for Empire of the Sun’s much anticipated third album. Rejoice, the Empire descends upon us. Today we have ‘Two Vines’, the albums lead single as a second isight into whats to come after Yesterdays first taste ‘High & Low’.

With the album set to officially release on the 28th of October, the two tracks give us a fair indication of the much anticipated albums direction. The retro-infused slice of electro-pop doesn’t waiver too far from the Empire’s charm, but another heavenly dose of the duo’s song writing prowess allows us to enjoy the flavour we have come to expect, and refreshes us with a new thematic angle which resounds through both singles so far. Youth.

The sound of the album would suggest the duo has revisited their “roots”. Upon listening you can’t help but acknowledge their ‘tip of the hat’ to the atmosphere that was created on Walking On A Dream, rather than following the route of the far more dance-heavy second album Ice On The Dune.

After the release premiered on American radio station KROQ’s Kevin & Bean Show overnight, Nick Littlemore emphasised the desire to write a song that captured the innocence and bravery of youth, and being a teenager. Mission accomplished. As was ‘High & Low’, this is a hair in the wind, feel good foot-tapper.
