Manchester based DnB lords North Base are at it again with their new track ‘I Found You’, with two accompanying remixes incoming from Freestylers and Shimon.

We sat down the the boys at North Base to pick their brains on their all time favourite summer DnB tracks. Here’s what they had to say:

1. Erb N Dub, Malux & Tony Anthem Ft. Doctor & SMK – Blaze Up The Fire 

‘This absolute summer slammer comes from our homeboy ERB N DUB working alongside Malux, Tony Anthem & Doctor. Junglistic vibes, killer chops and hard pumping bass with Doctor’s mighty skills amping up the vocal side of things – this track is pure heat and a summer killer at it’s hardest. ‘

2. Netsky – Rio – Sony / Ultra 

‘With the summer Olympics there is no better tune than this. Boris has done wonders on this track and we at North Base love it! Whether you think it’s a little cheesy or not, there’s no doubt you can call it a pure summertime anthem. This track is what music is about – vibes and great times. Good to see drum and bass getting the platform it deserves!’

3. North Base – I Found You – AudioPorn Recordings 

Time to blow our own trumpet, only cause’ this tune has that real summer feeling to it and, so far it has been going off a storm over the festival period. Our top secret vocalist has absolutely smashed this one with his luscious vocals. The radio support he’s already getting from likes of Mistajam and many, many more confirms that. Sadly, we’re not allowed to introduce him just quite yet, as he has been signed to a major, but you all will see who he is very soon! Trust us, he is one talented brother. You know who you are, mate! Oh…did we mention that FREESTYLERS and SHIMON did some sick, kick ass remixes for us? They’re due out very soon!’

4. Skrillex & Rick Ross – Suicide Squad 

‘WOW, what a banger this one is! It may not be D&B, it may be the main track to a feature film…we don’t care, cause’ this one is a slammer! Rick Ross went hard on the lyrics while Skrillex just smashed that trap beat to the fullest! This one is definitely going to go off at carnival this year! Not to mention the film looks kinda ill too.’

5. Dimension – Hydraulic – MTA

‘Another smasher coming from the London-based producer on the world-famous Chase & Status label – MTA. This guy knows no limits when it comes to making sick tunes and big boy basslines. One more here for your summer double drop collect!’

6. Wilkinson – What – Ram Records

‘This track is heavy. Proper dirty headbanger and ready to draw for the party. Am I right? Is that our boy MC ADAPT on the microphone? Go on my son!’

7. Tritonal – Getaway (ft. Angel Taylor (Koven Remix) 

‘This number has some proper summer vibes going on! Vocals are catchy and the overall party vibe is great! Does what every summer anthem is suppose to do – gets people on the dance floor moving.’

8. Fred V & Grafix – Stay Here – Hospital Records 

‘This track from Fred V & Grafix is a pure summer trop banger. The stops in-between make it so unique. The warm lush chords in the intro work very well. Definitely a crowd grabber track!’

9. 1991 – Bad – MTA

‘1991 ‘Bad’ has got that real summer vibe on the intro…then it drops into a filthy reese to grab all the ravers’ attention. This track is another dance floor smasher. We have already been playing this one out for a while now and it definitely goes off!’

10. Craig David X Big Narstie – When The Bassline Drop – North Base Remix 

‘Doing this remix has been an honor. Was crazy at Hideout festival this year when Craig David came out to perform it live. The crowd went bezerk and showed a lot of love by singing along. This tune has “summer” stamped all over it.’
