Boombox enthusiast Craig Kenton from New Zealand holds one of the most impeccable collections in the world. Over the years, Kenton has collected over 400 vintage boomboxes and has made the decision to put them up for auction. The whole lot starts at around $20,000 with Kenton explaining that it was a solid start.

“If I just sold the top 20 they would reach $20,000, and I’ve already had interest in some of those … but I would prefer to sell them as a collection,”

This mammoth collection features a range of different brands including Sharp, Crown, Sanyo and Lasonic. Even after 15 years of collecting, the vast majority of Kenton‘s collection is still in top condition.

“Finding them has been a big part of my life,” he continues. “I feel like the collection is a piece of 80s art, and I hope they go somewhere they can be seen.”
