Aphex Twin And U-Ziq Share Forgotten Collaboration From 1994

“Expert Knob Twidlers” the 1994 collab album of Aphex Twin and µ–Ziq, then known as Mike & Rich, is being re released by the label Planet Mu with additional unreleased content.

The inaugural unreleased track titled “11 Vodka (Mix 2) is up for a listen.
The label included a statement with the first unreleased soundcloud drop going into depth about the history of the album. Recorded in 1994 in Richard D. James’ (Aphex Twin) share flat in East London the duo used classic gear- Atari, Roland MKS-80, Memorymoog, Roland R8 and samples on a Casio FZ-10M.

The reissued version of “Expert Knob Twidlers” has been cleaned up and re mastered and includes seven new tracks and alternative versions  “…from a trancier version of ‘Vodka’ to the wonky bounce of ‘Portamento Gosh’, The 3/4 dub of ‘Waltz,’ the banging door bass of’ Brivert and Muonds’, the creepy seasick atmosphere of ‘Clissold Bathroom’ and finishing with the strangely graceful and serious ‘Organ Plodder’. A generous and welcome return to the racks.”

The 18 track album is available for pre order HERE with vinyl and cassette for real 90’s fans.
