South-Korea has invented an Ice-Cream that cures Hangovers

It’s Wednesday, and so no doubt you’re already gearing up for the weekend. Maybe it’s a big one, maybe it’s not, but either way, you always need a Plan B. No we don’t mean an alternative to driving home – though that is very important – we mean a way to deal with the potentially crippling hangover you’ll be suffering on Saturday or Sunday (or both) morning. Luckily, South Korea has got you covered.

Though it won’t be at our shores by this weekend, it’s good to know that Asia’s biggest per capita alcohol consumers have been working on an ingenious way to get you de-dustied – and this time it’s ice cream.

Called the Gyeondyo-bar, which translates directly to “hang in there”, it hits South-Korean shelves on Friday. It’s grapefruit-flavoured, and made up of 0.7% oriental raisin tree fruit juice, which is a traditional 17th-century remedy.

We’re looking forward to hearing the reviews, and having a better excuse to smash some ice-cream on a fried Sunday – though does anyone really need one anyway?
