Kanye West sued for using uncleared samples in ‘New Slaves’

Once again, Kanye West has found himself caught in the headlights.

The rapper/producer/stylist/designer and outspoken public figure is being sued by Hungarian composer, Gabor Presser, who claims West sampled the hell out of his 1969 composition ‘Gyongyhaju Lany’ on West’s 2013 track ‘New Slaves’.

After a listen, you’ll see what I mean.

Presser claims West “knowingly and intentionally misappropriated” his composition, and that he only found out he was being sampled right before the song dropped back in 2013.

TMZ reports that Presser was issued a $10,000 advance from West, however it was never cashed. This is not the first time we’ve heard of Kanye having trouble paying his contributors, only last month Hudson Mohawke took to Twitter claiming West had not paid him numerous works in the past.

Hopefully Presser gets a nice, fat cheque for the trouble. Have a listen to his original below, as well as Kanye’s ‘New Slaves’.
