Arguably one of the biggest acts in house at the moment, Purple Disco Machine has been releasing huge club hits one after the other.
Inventor of the “Deep Funk” sound, he has a lot of experience making a dancefloor shake with funky basslines and sultry vocals. Combining disco, funk, house and everything in between, he has released on all of the major house labels, including Exploited and Get Twisted. His massive hit My House places in Beatports Top 10 highest selling tracks in history, and luckily enough, he sat down with Stoney Roads to give us an insider tip on his top 5 future disco tracks at the moment.
1. Chromeo – Night By Night
PDM (Purple Disco Machine): Chromeo is one of my absolute favorite bands. I really love this mix of funk, soul, Talkbox and Dave’s voice.
2. Lorenz Rhode – Back
PDM: Maybe the best Talkbox song I’ve ever heard. The great hook makes you dance and smile the whole day.
3. Gonzales – You Can Dance
PDM: Gonzales is such a genius on the piano. Some of his songs are a bit weird but ‘You can Dance’ is all about disco and happiness. For me this is one of his best songs ever.
4. Moloko – Sing It Back
PDM: One of the tracks which brought me into the house scene and still one of my favorite house songs ever. Love those sweet vocals.
5. Daft Punk – Get Lucky (feat. Pharell)
PDM: Already a disco classic – and it has one of the best ear worm hooks ever.
