INTERVIEW: Man of the moment ‘Enschway’ talks future collabs and the ‘Friendschway’ tour

Listen up here kids, if you don’t know who Enschway is yet then you’re about to get schooled. Because I’m pretty good at picking up on what’s going to be ‘the next big thing’. I called bucket hats before people even started wearing them as a serious fashion accessory. Trust my judgement, I’m rarely wrong.

Check out his EP and see for yourself.

So who is Enschway? We interviewed the Sydney local to find out more.

Stoney Roads: Hello Enschway! You’re currently nearly completed your ‘Friendschway’ Australian tour, how’s it going? Any cool stories?

Enschway: Hello, The Friendschway tour has been going amazing so far. As for cool stories, non stand out because it’s just collectively been so fun filled with lots of beer, good food & partying.

SR: Your EP is massive, congrats. I’ve been vibing to it the past few weeks. How’s the reception been thus far?

E: Thank u :–). Reception has been great so far, grabbing heaps of support from some idols of mine.

SR: What’s your creative process behind working on a track?

E: I usually start with a chord progression then synthesize some layers with those chords. Then I’ll add some drums and kind of split it up and figure out the arrangement, after that it’s all pretty much what ever is in my head in the time.

SR: How would you personally describe your sound? What sets you apart from the crowd?

E: I guess a future bass/trap fusion. Trying keep the emotion of the future bass style but keeping some of the heavier trap elements to make people dance.

SR: You’ve collabed with some absolute legends including Holly, Luude and Monomyth, what collaborations do you have lined up for the future? Who are you hoping to work with?

E: I love those guys so much <3.
I have another one with Holly & Monomyth actually. Me and Luudie are planning to start some stuff in the coming weeks. I’m really excited about what me & the Slumberjack boys have been working on but I have a lot more collabs that have to stay under wraps for now. As for who I’m hoping to work with, I’d love to work with someone like San Holo; he’s such an inspiration for me.

SR: Sooo RL Grime slid into your DM’s… no biggie! Tell us about that.

E: It was a nice little DM to wake up to, he was just asking for some tunes…

SR: Word is you’re ‘the next big thing’. How does that make you feel?

E: It’s still early days and I’m just doing what I love doing. I guess anything that comes from doing something I feel so passionate about is just a bonus.

SR: What’s been the highlight of your musical career thus far?

E: That RL Grime DM felt pretty good.

SR: Tell us a little about how you got to where you are now.

E: Pretty much just downloaded abelton and fell in love with creating music in general. Just kept doing it and showing people on the internet.

SR: What are three tracks you’ve been digging recently?

E: I think I’ve listened to each of these about 50 times each in the last 2 weeks

Droeloe – zZz

San Holo – They Just Haven’t Seen It (ft. The Nicholas)

What so not X Ganz – Lone ft Joy (Luude Flip)

SR: What’s up next for you, Enschway?

E: Might have some more Friendschway EP’s coming down the line, along with some spicy originals.

Keep up to date with Enschway via Facebook and Soundcloud.
