Flying Lotus Scores New Shia Labeouf Produced Film

Flying Lotus is hands down, one of the most inspiring and well-respected producers in electronic/hip hop music.

The multi-genre artist has released a number of albums as well as produced massive tunes which has led him to be handed several opportunities to step out of his comfort zone and write more tedious and challenging material. His most recent project involved scoring the soundtrack for an upcoming documentary called ‘LoveTrue’ making it Flying Lotus’s second time scoring for a full-length film.

The film ‘LoveTrue‘ – directed by Israeli film maker Alma Har’el and produced by Shia Labeouf – is set to be a mind-bending and experimental piece of work which introduces the subjects to love and their experiences with it. ‘LoveTrue’ aims to shine a light on youth and display the positives and negatives in ‘love’. Alma Har’el wants us to follow the journey from the beginning right through to the darker events that occur showing us how capable humans emotions are and the consequences that come with it.

The trailer for ‘LoveTrue’ has recently been released, giving us a taste of what to expect from Flying Lotus’s productions.

Flying Lotus delicately layers orchestral instruments with sombre tones to create a dark and ominous atmosphere to accompany the visuals. With the long, warm and flowing harmonies of the strings and synths to the roundness of the kick drum, which almost mimicks a heartbeat, to represent the idea and engage with the viewers. FlyLo has done a terrific job writing the soundtrack to reflect everything this movie stands for. The unity and the disconnection of people’s relationships.
