Survey Shows Young People Don’t Enjoy Clubbing

A recent survey in the UK that has come up with the general idea that their youth do not enjoy going clubbing.

The survey was conducted by The Guardian, asking 196 millennials between the ages of 18 and 35 if they enjoyed clubbing, to which 131 declared they do not.

With that said, 196 people definitely does not reflect a nation wide opinion, however it certainly raises some questions.

The general reasons behind their dislike to go out were as follows:

-It’s too expensive

-Club’s these days are rubbish

-Club’s are too impersonal

-Going out creates anxiety

-Safety and health concerns

-We’re too tired

The survey also shows that millennials dislike the fact that clubs shut so early in the UK -even in capital cities- due to the fact that they pay a lot to get in, a lot to get drinks and then as the party starts to heat up the lights in the club go on.

Many proclaimed that they would rather meet their friends for a quiet drink instead of “shouting over the music”, or just stay in all together.

Do you think this opinion on clubbing in the UK is similar here in Australia? Should we survey the youth of Australia and see if clubbing is still as popular as it once was with our youth?
