Grime’s next big thing, Skepta’s protégé, and overall badman Novelist has shared two brand new rompers in the lead up to his debut tour down under.
The 19 year old from London has demonstrated his lyrical and musical ability in the release, as he delivers both a vocal track and an instrumental.
Hoax, the vocal effort, showcases the silky flow of the youngster behind a heavy, bassline driven instrumental, produced by himself and fellow UK producer PREM. There’s no surprise as to why Skepta has endorsed Novelist so much lately.
The instrumental, titled Casper Riddim, takes a different direction: going simple with heavy, eery brass notes and pairing them with punchy drums. The high strings that underpin the track only add to the ominous atmosphere – only building more hype for his debut shows.
