Massive Anti-Lockout Law Protest This Sunday!

Keep Sydney Open – the organisation leading the charge against lockout-laws – have just announced they are hosting a protest rally next week.

The rally is set for Sunday, February 21, and will kick off at 12:30pm at Belmore Park near Central Station.

From here, the rally plans to move to the CBD just after 1pm, stopping by soon-to-close venue Bar Century to conduct a mock-funeral for all the closed venues, small businesses and jobs lost since the lockouts.

Keep Sydney Open – created by activist Tyson Koh – has seen a recent boom since the notorious Mike Baird Facebook post, with the frustrations of the Sydney nightlife community reaching its peak, and for good reason.

The rally will also host speeches from notable figures in said community, including:

Isabella Manfredi from globally successful band The Preatures(Speaker)

Dave Faulkner from iconic Australian band Hoodoo Gurus (Speaker)

Bernard Keane Political Editor of Crikey and author (Speaker)

Tyson Koh from Keep Sydney Open (MC/Speaker)

Art vs Science (Musical performance)

Royal Headache (Musical performance)
