Goinnn’ Troppo: Your Paradise Returns in 2016

Hooley dooley. Looks like everyone’s favourite tropical paradise, Your Paradise, is back for the third year running this December. Probably the best executed destination festival we’ve ever experienced (and f me, it can’t have been easy for the hardworking Aussie organisers) – this is a world away from that rave cave life. This is literally paradise. The festival’s famous lineup of international and local artists will be announced Tuesday 17th May and you can secure your spot with a cheeky deposit right now.

As big fans of the fest, we can safely say that last year was bloody hectic. Leaving Sydney airport with a bunch of kids in Hawaiian shirts and captain hats (because why wait), not a lot could have prepared us for just how stunning these islands really are. That water is crystal too blue, and the sand is creepy white and tantalisingly soft. During our time there we went swimming in the perfect water (I made friends with a fish), ate some serious buffet, partied on a two-level bar that was so far out of view of land that it literally felt like magic and smashed back plenty (and I mean plenty) of Fiji Golds. Tins are a universal language y’all.

A highlight was partying on a huge Stoney-powered catamaran that mozeyed around the islands and pumped tunes from some of my favourite DJs (I was frothing before you could say ‘Van She reunion set’) and the disappearing sandbank party – a mate had to shake me awake at 6am to pull me on a boat and party on a sandbank that would only be sticking around for 3 hours at sunrise. Seriously. Obviously partying every night on the soft sand to mates such as Justin Martin, Nora En Pure, DJ Scratch (I could go on) was pretty special, as was the fact that everyone was playing was literally chillin’ among us.
