Soulwax have just released the tracklist of their composition for ‘Belgica’, a new film by Oscar nominated director Felix Van Groeningen.

The 16-track score is made up of an eclectic group of songs crafted by Soulwax to create the backbone of Groeningen’s new film that premiered at Sundance Film Festival last week. This soundtrack is the first studio album the Belgian band have produced since their 2005 album ‘Nite Versions’.

That is over ten years!

Now, if you have already scrolled down to see the tracklist below you’ll notice there are fictional band names before each track, which was the plan Soulwax came up with in order to stay within the film’s narrative.

While speaking on this effort, Soulwax stated “We recorded the original music being played in the club, wrote the music, rehearsed and recorded live on set the tracks played by the bands,” say Soulwax. “These ranged from a live Kraut-techno band, White Virgins, and bequiffed psychobilly trio They Live, through to hardcore outfit Burning Phlegm (featuring Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera). Chanteuse Charlotte represents the other end of the spectrum with her neo-soul pop.”
