Western Sydney Finally Gets A Festival It Deserves

Australian festival The Plot has returned with plenty of twists and turns for round two of the electronic meets Hip Hop meets indie event that’ll see among others UV Boi, Basenji, SAFIA, Friend Within (UK) and The Meeting Tree perform to adoring crowds.

Carefully taking into account location, taste, sound and feel, here’s five reasons you won’t want to miss this years The Plot and become an official #GrooveIsInThePark on December 5th.

1. Taking the music to the people!

Old Parliament House Parramatta

Could this be a first? For the first time in as long as I can remember, The Plot are taking a major city-centric line up to the outer west suburbs. Besides the only other obvious (Stereosonic – urgh) in the area, this is the first tasteful electronic music festival to give the long overdue west of Sydney a fresh perspective mixed with local food, micro brewers and more. A great cultural mix!

Set at the scenic and green Old Parliament House that served as the home for 10 early governors of NSW, are we going to witness a different kind of history being made?

2. The food

Bella Vista Hotel’s Bella Shack’s Burgers

Salivation ensues with The Plot bringing the A-Team of vendors together to create an existential crisis because the choice is just looking SO DAMN GOOD. Local vendors turning up will include Bella Shack Burgers, Courtney’s Brasserie, Knafeh Jerusalem Street Food, Yan’s Asian and more!

3. Australia’s endless array of talent

Tkay Maizda

Once upon a time, when you’d go to a festival, there was a huge unspoken expectation that, in order to create a successful major event in Australia, you needed a killer overseas act flown in to blow the night away. Not anymore! The Plot has stacked the local talent with the likes of Tkay Maizda, Paces, Crooked Colours, Basenji, Safia, The Meeting Tree and more bringing the energy. We’re pretty lucky!

4. Micro brewers (mmmmmm beer)

Brewery award winning beers

If there’s anything that Australian’s appreciate, it’s a delicious cold brewed beer. And what better way to wet the whistle than some refreshing local brews. Refreshments will be provided from the Australian Brewery, Hillybilly Cider, Canonbah Bridge Cider and more. Yum!

5. Epic International acts

We can boast about local talent for days, but it wouldn’t be a great day without the help from other necks of the wood. This very notably includes bass bomber Friend Within who’s famously put out some of the biggest club anthems of 2014 and 2015 including an unforgettable Disclosure collaboration!
