British Dirtybird rep Eats Everything has very touchingly paid homage to one of his and Pete Tong’s oldest fans/ravers. A lady by the name of Joan who’d developed a taste for all things dance music in her later years of her life.

Eats Everything posted on Facebook, “I learned today that the oldest & most lovely raver I have ever met passed away at the age of 96. She came to watch me many times & was truly an amazing human being! Rest in peace Joan, you wonderful, wonderful lady xxxxxx”

Her story is touching. With her husband passing away over 10 years ago, she developed a keen interest in dance music after seeing Pete Tong play at the Savannah night club. Ever since, she used dance music to lift her mood and tuned into Pete Tong’s show every Friday.

Fan stories have come pouring in with another follower of the raving granny sharing a story;

‘The other lady (in the image at the top of the post) is her daughter I met them at mint club Leeds, I had lost my ticket! And they had a spare let me have it and wouldn’t take a penny legends RIP Joan x’

With another adding his experience from frequent run in’s with Joan and her daughter;

“I had the pleasure of meeting these 2 lovely ladies many times over the years. Such sad news x”
