One of the breakout artists of 2015 would have to be France’s The Avener. His sleeper hit track ‘Fade Out Lines’ was released in 2014, but it wasn’t till this year that things really took off. Sitting just under 20 million plays on Youtube, the song was a global hit, peaking at number 3 in France, reaching the number 1 spot in Austria, Germany and Spain, and also making the top 10 charts in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Italy and Switzerland. He also recently produced French artist Mylène Farmer’s album, which included a duet with Sting that went straight to number 1 in France. Out over the new year’s period in Australia as part of the Falls Festival, this will be The Avener’s debut performance in Melbourne!
