Tampering with an already amazing and expert song is a risky move. Tame Impala’s well received album, Currents, has many incredible choice tunes on it, but one stand out is the mammoth seven-minute journey that is “Let It Happen”. Really, who else but Soulwax could actually do a decent job at a remix.

In typical Soulwax fashion, the Belgium locals have slapped an extra two minutes on the remix and fitted it out with crunching bass lines and tambourines. Taking vocal elements, Soulwax have merely used the frame of the song to create their own jam. It’s dance ridden with that excellent weirdness that you find in the best of Soulwax’s remix jobs.

“Let It Happen” was already a masterpiece, but with the first (most likely of many) remix hitting out ears in full force, the Soulwax remix is damn good jam with layer upon layer of trippy musical elements.
