Last Magpie – Seperation [Hypercolour]

Last Magpie, aka Craig McNamara, is back with another inspired release on the Hypercolour imprint in the form of the Seperation EP. With the release date set for the 31st of July, we’ve received exclusive pre-release access to the infectious 9-minute title track.

Craig forms one half of one of the most heralded bass duos in the business, Mak & Pasteman, and rest assure the UK bass influence is rife with ‘Seperation’. The track is a deep, analogue-ridden and almost intergalactic feeling piece, as the deft white noise presence gives the single a real raw techno sound. The track is tailor made for the dark, brooding and smoky Berlin dancefloor, with the melancholic strings combining with the percussion aptly to create a tune that’ll get you really moving.

The cut is an instant classic for me, as the subtle yet intricate layering of bass, percussion and its ability to take you to a place far, far away is top draw.

The Seperation EP on Hypercolour releases on the 31st of July, but you can pre-order on their Bandcamp page here: https://hypercolour-records.bandcamp.com/album/separation-ep
