7 Timeless Remixes Of The Chemical Brothers

There’s no denying The Chemical Brothers are dance royalty having helped innovate the scene to where it is today while still pushing the boundaries of what could be considered almost experimental electronic music with their latest release ‘Born In The Echoes’ quite possibly their best record yet.

Another litmus test could very well be the kinds of official remixers that find themselves twisting and turning the UK duo’s original thumping wares into their own sonic weapons.

In an effort to somewhat squash the limitless amount of re-workings out there we’ve paved the way with seven timeless remixes that were played and will continue to be played everywhere.

7. The Chemical Brothers – Life Is Sweet (Daft Punk Remix)

Yeah betcha you didn’t remember that Daft Punk tried their hand remixing “Life Is Sweet” from the pairings ‘Exit Planet Dust’ album that was release in 1995. How’d they do? If eight and a half minutes of looping rhythmic analog goodness are your thing then it’ll go down a treat.

6. The Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix)

It doesn’t get much bigger than the Soulwax (2ManyDJs) remix of “Hey Boy, Hey Girl” from the lads’ ‘Surrender’ release in 1999. There’s no playing around with the remix instantly buzzing your senses with a bordering on torturous whirl before some ear bursting synths. I’ll give you guarantee that my hands and arms will be flailing whenever this bad boy gets dropped!

5. The Chemical Brothers – Out Of Control (Sasha Remix)

Sasha shares what could be the most sensible remix of “Out Of Control”- not to take anything away from it just how closely it resembles the original. Then again the period was one where remixes weren’t necessarily about transforming the original, just extending the hell out of it. Extra points for the trippy music video right?

4. The Chemical Brothers – Swoon (Boys Noize Summer Remix)

Electro fiends would have been happy to download this sucker in 96Kbps if it meant having a copy to hit repeat on over and over. Both parties really knocked this one out of the park, The Chemical Brothers for creating such a melodic ripper “Swoon” and Boys Noize for carefully roughing it up with a bit more grit.

3. The Chemical Brothers – ‘Go’ (Claude Von Stroke Remix)

Even though “Go” features on the latest album from The Chemical Brothers the remix by Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke not only channels some 80’s robotic electro but will stand the test of time by offering up straight club heat that’d we happily throw down to in 10 years.

2. The Chemical Brothers – Get Yourself High (Switch Remix)

Remember Switch? Boy we do and his remix of “Get Yourself High” taken from The Chemical Brothers’ 2012 release ‘Don’t Think’ is just a perfect ensemble of glitch, wonk and itself a totally unique bit of dance kit. Think about it, who else was releasing remixes like this at the time?

1. The Chemical Brothers – Out of Control (Orbital mix)

The slow burner award goes out to Orbital, another seminal UK duo who carved out a long and successful career with their take on “Surrender” a great example of what they do best. At a weighty eight minutes the remix isn’t just a quick walk around the block but a trip to the other side of the world. Wow, just wow.

That wraps it, be sure to tell us in the comments what other remixes you would have included in the list and be sure to grab The Chemical Brothers new album ‘Born In The Echoes’ now on Apple Music.
