7 Artists Likely To Feature On Flumes Next Album

Flume fans would have lost their minds yesterday when the Australian producer spoke with NME and teased that the new album was to feature “unknown dudes and really well known dudes,” but it wasn’t much fun when the youngster didn’t reveal much more on who to expect.

Like any puzzle you can start to sort of see what things are going to look like (if you skipped looking at the box) with subtle hints and a corner piece here and there.

Already we’ve been privileged to the first proper sound of the album in the form of “Some Minds” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow so you can cross him off the list but who else can we expect on his sophomore record.

We have a bit of a stab in the dark as to who else might feature considering the current pull of the future-beats producer;

sam-smith-e1398903924973

Sam Smith

That remix seemed a bit strange and left field when it landed but not if you reverse the flow and remind yourself Sam has a beautiful voice so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the UK crooner on there.

diplo lorde overseas

Lorde

They’ve reportedly hung out, he’s remixed her single “Tennis Courts” so the next phase could be a Lorde chorus somewhere on the Flume LP. There’s also a proud moment when one Australian and another almost Australia (ha) are on-top of the world and working together.

Collarbones

Collarbones

This was the latest remix from Flume and considering Marcus from Collarbones hit the stage live with him for Future Classics 10th Anniversary it wouldn’t be a stretch to see him nestled into the tracklisting.

george maple

George Maple

The latest gem of the Future Classic family and vocals to boot having already snuck into a few collaborations over the last 12 months. Two Future Classic artists on the same song? You betcha.

lido light

Lido

These two’s paths have crossed and Lido has spilled about hitting the studio together so that could mean anything but considering their skill sets could very well equal a stimulating, emotive, electronic anthem!

LISAFRIELING_CHETFAKER_FLUME_SCAN12

Chet Faker

Again, the two share a label, Chets got some pipes on him and Flumes got the production chops so not a stretch and something fans have been waiting on forever. Could it happen?

Kendrick-Lamar-Skyrockets-to-Top-of-Artist-100-FDRMX

Kendrick Lamar

Whats a modern electronic album without a rapper? Although Kendricks a star in his own right, there’s no denying the pull of the Flume-gravity and while existing in different worlds adds some allure to the concept. Will it happen? Long shot but something we’d be interested in hear.

These are all mainly “big dudes” so excited to see what comes of the lesser known folk who make the cut and have their lives changed.

Also Little Dragon are looking to be a sure bet with an ID floating around purporting to be a Flume lick featuring the group.

Flume also spoke of the width of the album and its “highs” and “lows” with some parts intentionally lacking drums and could be described as purely ambient – exciting times head.

Who do you want to see on the next Flume album?
