Here’s Your First Electronic Act For Next Years Laneway Festival

With this years Laneway Festival still in our minds with stand out performances from Caribou, FKA Twigs, Flying Lotus, Jon Hopkins and more we’ve actually been spilled an act that’ll be playing next years national festival.

Speaking with Stoney Roads writer Izzy Comber this morning Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke revealed when talking about his new live show that’ll include an ex-member of Two Door Cinema Club and Redinho that he’ll be here in 2016 for the buzzing festival;

“I don’t know if it’s been announced yet but we’ll be at Laneway next summer for you guys.”

He was especially fond of the concept of touring with his own band and other artists and the chance for collaboration;

“We’re bringing the live show. I’ve done a number of festivals over there and I love the idea of touring festivals where the same line up goes to a bunch of different cities. That’s where I’ve met a bunch of people that I’ve collaborated with. I find that sort of concept of the touring festival as a really good chance to meet people – a lot of festivals you come in, play your set and you leave. But with this you’re with a group of people for two or three weeks. It’s great and you get a chance to bond.”

In the rest of the interview he also chats about his Australian girlfriend (woo), the gabber and hardcore scene and his competitive youth Djing.

The news lands conveniently on the day of release of his new ‘Lantern’ LP that has already gathered a ton of positive support for its out of the box approach and certainly has our tick of approval.

It’s out now on Warp Records, get yourself a copy on iTunes.
