EDM Country is here feat. Keith Urban

Surely not, it can’t be?

Sadly, Yes it is true. Nile Rodgers and old mate Urban are teaming up to make what Rodgers describes as “country-EDM”.

According to the journalist who was played the songs by an excited Rodgers in the back of an SUV, one of the songs features Rodgers’ signature guitar over some “frenetic banjo playing by Urban” set to a “pulsating club beat”.

Continuing the country dance music trend made popular from our mate Avicci (please don’t wake me up ever), Rodgers was quick to swipe off the haters.

“A lot of people, the only record they ever bought by David Bowie was Let’s Dance. That’s at least [seven] million albums — he’d never sold anything near that before. So his fanbase got angry: ‘This sucks! This is not Ziggy Stardust! That’s not Scary Monsters!’ But it was huge because it spoke to a broader audience. I think a record like this will speak to a broader audience [for Urban], and the country people will come around.”

Whilst we could be proved wrong surely there’s some things that just shouldn’t mix.

After spreading his funky goodness all over the place in the last few years,  has the Chic head-honcho spread himself a little to far.

If all else fails I’m sure the two could exchange hair care tips and keep those luscious locks looking gewd.
