MIDI’s, can’t live without ’em right? That may explain why there are so god damn many of them available on the internet and if attempted would take months if not years to sort by hand.

One keen fan on Reddit fittingly called ‘midi_man’ has had enough and spent a good chunk of his weekends sifting through as many links as possible to create what could easily be called the worlds biggest MIDI collection on the internet.

The cache includes in total, 130,000 files that equates to around 3.65Gb of uncompressed goodness spanning across genres “Pop, Classical (Piano/Violin/Guitar), EDM, Video Games, Movies and TV Themes.” – nice!

He certainly didn’t do it by hand as that would have taken ’15 lifetimes’ but had a good stab at just collating a bunch of sounds to inject into your damn machine.

To avoid duplicates he used a checksum and left in the longest, most descriptive files but offers the disclaimer “Some will be spot on and miraculous; others will sound like total garbage”.
