What Happened To Ed Banger Records?

If we could rewind to 5 years ago, the famous French label Ed Banger Records was a household name. With acts flying the flag including Justice, Sebastien, Uffie, Feadz, DJ Mehdi, Mr. Oizo, So Me, Breakbot and of course Busy P, it was irresistibly impossible to not have at least one of their tracks heard in every club across the world. So where the hell have they gone and why don’t we ever hear from them?

Well the truth is, they’re still about doing stuff, like going on Holy Ship, but the fact of the matter is they just haven’t released anything that bangs in years. It’s become increasingly clear, the predecessors to the golden era of label (Boston Bun, Riton and more) have not successfully kept the candle burning.

My most recent memory was, the 10th Anniversary tour coming to fruition and then sadly coming to a halt before even reaching Australia. Will there ever be a renaissance of Ed Banger Records? Here’s the rumours of what some of the artists are up to:

Rumour mills
– Breakbot is in the process of making his new album
– Justice as well
– Sebastian has been producing for an artist named Katerine on an album dubbed ‘Magnum’
– Mr. Oizo released his last record on Brainfeeder not too long ago.
