Wait, What? Green Velvet and Carl Craig Dropped An Album?

Among the tidal wave of good news this week we all may have missed one of the most interesting projects between house legend Green Velvet and techno pioneer Carl Craig.

The two must have been locked away in a studio for some time working on a 7-track album they’ve just released on Relief Records.

The album dubbed ‘Unity’ converges on the crossroads of Detroit and Chicago house and techno for a cosmic ride that frets between the two sounds and at times melts together into futuristic bass.

“From the outer reaches of the galaxy come two captains from two worlds — worlds that hold traditions which shape the branial particles and molecules of the munchkins, who will and have come to dominate the not-so-distant future with multiple galaxies and intercosmic cosmo cities,”

One of our favourite from the release is “How” that feels like some sort of persian robot dance anthem with plenty of filtered claps, Greens own vocals by the sound of it and whirling, tweaked synth lines.
