Do It Like Dusky

Dusky, Dusky, Dusky, what can be said about the dynamic duo, Nick Harriman and Alfie Granger-Howell, who have established themselves as solid leaders in Uk underground circuit. Since their first release in 2011 on the “Stick By This” album Dusky has continued to push status quo and define their signature sound of musical depth and detailing.

The game changing track ‘Flo Jam’ make an impact in 2012 on Dogmatik Records. After appearing in sets from Jamie Jones, Sasha, Calvin Harris and other hot shots, Dusky was well on their way. Over the last 4 years the group has released on labels Anjunadeep, Simple Records, Aus Music and Naked Naked and earned themselves DJ Mag cover spots, headliner gigs at Panorama Bar and Fabric, a residency at Ibiza’s We Love…Sundays at Space and BBC Essential Mix of the Year contenders….. the list. goes. on.

In a 2013 interview with Stoney Roads Dusky confirmed their devotion to deep house,

“Dubstep, Trap, and now commercial EDM have all shared a lightning-fast ascension to popularity, which makes them all the more likely to fall out of favour with similar speed. We’ve already seen that with the more commercial side of Dubstep for example. But deep house has been around for over 25 years so it seems unlikely it’ll suddenly drop off the map. It will certainly lose some popularity but the underground scene will continue in places like Ibiza, Berlin, and London.” (Full interview HERE)

The group has recently established and released on their new label 17 Steps, a move the pair say “feels like a natural phase” and “logical move” as they gain control of their musical identity and provide an outlet and support base for other artists they believe in. The EP entitled Love Taking Over was debuted by a Special Delivery on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show and picked up other supporters across the station from Pete Tong, Danny Howard, and Mistajam.
