Ableton have published a book about producing!

Ableton’s latest foray isn’t into new technologies, but a rather old one: they’ve gone and published a book!

No, it’s not an instruction book about Ableton Live. In fact, there’s no mentions of equipment or programs at all throughout the whole thing.

“Making Music: 74 Creative Strategies for Electronic Music Producers” contains pretty much exactly that – tips, tools and advice for producers of all levels. Particularly helpful for upcoming artists in the first stages of learning to produce, the book will aid those using any kind of hardware or software. According to the website, “This book is a collection of solutions to common roadblocks in the creative process, with a specific emphasis on solving musical problems, making progress, and (most importantly) finishing what you start.”

As such, the text is appropriately split into three sections: “Problems of Beginning,” “Problems of Progressing,” “Problems of Finishing.”

The book is available for purchase right now, and will set you back around $30. Explore more and read a few chapters here, or buy it here.
