When we got approached by Pacha to go see their new 2015 shows in Sydney, we were immediately curious! We’re talking about an institution that mixes technology, explosive visuals and music that stretches back to when it all began in Barcelona in 1967… And here it is, in little old Sydney. Funny how far something can travel in over 40 years!
So what does it take to put on a club night like this?
The Theme
Now I don’t feel so ambitious after looking at the blue print for what’s no less than an extravaganza (Eat your heart out Cirque Du Soleil). Antony Ginandiar and Ashley Evans are two creative directors going HAM to make the next four show ridiculously huge. The lads have been armoured to let loose without being confined to ‘safe’ ideas. Nudity ensues with the themed shows dubbed ‘Private Parts’ – an avant guard celebration of the female “bodaaaay” (well hello!). I think we can handle that.
The Visuals
If I were to sit here and explain what they have planned, I still feel it wouldn’t do it justice. But I’m going to try to anyway!!
Picture yourself walking through giant oversized inflatable sexy legs to see luscious plump lips. Surround yourself with seductively dressed burlesque dancers teasing you with UV reactive paint dripping down their curvaceous bodies. Put a breathe taking world record holding tight roper above you and neon and lazer lights all around you. You are in that’ unique world that is Pacha.
The music
Raunchy romance visuals and risque themes aren’t complete without a soundtrack to go with. This Saturday when we check out Dutch born, Australian based DJ MarLo at Pacha, we will be combining two firsts. A Pacha extravaganza with the sonic experience of trance music that famously harbours one of the most active fan bases in dance music today.
Join us soon as we present to you what it’s like to be apart of this visual extravaganza. Better yet, come party with us this Saturday by grabbing a ticket here (Promo code STONEYROADS – 30 available). All other pre-paid tickets are sold out. Plenty of tickets available on the door!
