Doline – Karidja

As the premiere track on Sound Pellegrino’s newest compilation, SND.PE, Vol. 04: Melodic Mechanisms“Karidja” unequivocally outshines its accompanying 13 tracks. Conceived by the little known French artist Doline, “Karidja” glistens with the maturity and precision of a seasoned producer’s touch. The compilation’s theme is an homage to melody, which Doline captures perfectly in his soaring synths, deep horns, and syncopated drum beats. Sound Pellegrino explained their mission:

“We wanted to get excited by melody again in a dance music world where it’s often used to convey re-heated nostalgia, or an overload of cliché epic-ness. “SND.PE Vol.04” is a selection of danceable whistle-able numbers that exist in-between genres. A collection of melody-focused tracks that retain nuance and a sense of reserve while remaining fiercely charismatic and unapologetic. Musical and effortless.”

No track on the compilation embodies that sense of fluidity and exuberance better than “Karidja.” The up-and-coming producer found his inspiration for it in Teki Latex’s recent “Deconstructed Trance Reconstructed” mix, and in hopes of catching the label head’s attention, Doline submit his work and got signed immediately. Holding the #1 spot on Sound Pellegrino’s latest compilation is surely just the beginning for this French wunderkind.

Interesting aside: “Doline” comes from a Russian word meaning valley, or sinkhole.
