Diplo Makes Beautiful Music With Grizzly Bear and Vampire Weekend

Major Lazer frontman Diplo has teamed up with Grizzly Bears Edward Droste and Vampire Weekends Rostam Batmanglij for a rather quirky track dubbed “Long Way Home” that steps outside of his largely dancehall antics.

The track formation doesn’t actually surprise us much with Diplo remixing Grizzly Bear November last year and Ezra of Vampire Weekend featuring on Major Lazers “Vegan Vampire” from their last album.

The track genuinely sounds more akin to a winding indie beat you’d expect from either bands back catalog although with subtle hints of horns and grubby synth sounds. Stranger still is it’s actually a re-work if you will of Ty Dolla’s single ‘Stand For’ bar any of his vocals… weird.

For now it doesn’t look to be anything really official and more just a play-around-in-the-studio-cover gone right, really right. Who wants to hear this live?
