GRMM Tells Us About His Dream Aussie Collabs

In the lead up to his very first Australian tour, and in celebration of his single with Gorgon City collaborator Laura Welsh, we spoke to one of Australia’s brightest producer talents in GRMM. Having taken the world by storm with his single ‘Electrify‘ that featured Father Dude, we spoke on various banter including future collaborations, his style of music and more!

SR – You’ve remained quite mysterious. How much of yourself do you want out there?

GRMM – Not really sure. Never thought about it.

SR – How would you describe your own music?

GRMM – I think my music falls into Electronica as a genre but its chill and mixes both worlds of trap and rnb/soul

SR – It’s been a busy year! Which track are you most proud of and why?

GRMM – Despite being proud of every track I’ve released, the one that has brought me the success has been Electrify so it would have to be at the top

SR – Tell us what’s in store for your Australian tour?

GRMM – For my live tour I plan on showcasing some new tracks for my EP which is coming out early next year as well as some bootlegs featuring Mark Morrison (Return Of The Mack) and Aaliyah (One In A Million) plus some remixes which will be released mostly after the tour.

SR – You’ve work with Gorgon City and Yasmin. Have you had the chance to meet either of them yet?

GRMM – Not yet. Hopefully one day!

SR – Who’d you like to work with in Australia in the future?

GRMM – Tough question really. There are so many new artists doing big things that I would like to work with but it would have to KLP and La Mar .

KLP has a great voice and such and important role in the Australian music industry. Her feature on Slumberjack’s latest EP is great!

La Mar are some good friends of mine. I have a remix of their track ‘Anchor’ coming out shortly. Dylan’s vocals are unique and their beats are catchy! Big things to come from them also.

What’s involved in your live set up?

Don’t want to reveal too much just yet but as for the set up, Ill be on the keys and sampling my songs.
Working hard 😀
