The Klaxons Call It A Day

Sterling nu-rave, indie-dance band The Klaxons have announced what could be their breakup sharing that there would be no more live performances after scheduled shows early next year.

The news broke through their twitter with the British group stating “after what’s been nearly nine bananas years we’d like to let you know that we’ve decided the upcoming dates will be our last headline tour” – damn…

There is a slight possibility its a pause to work on some new material but after a slightly mellow release of their latest album ‘Love Frequency’ in June it might really be the end, especially with The xx’s label Young Turks tweeting “end of the era” in response.

This follows the break up of much loved duo Crystal Castles last month in what we’re hoping isn’t a ‘comes in three’ scenario.

Those still scratching their heads as to the relevance of The Klaxons had better spin the dial back to 2005-2006 when the group released their biggest hits “Golden Skans” and “Gravitys Rainbow”, both off their debut album that nabbed them a Mercury Prize. They existed in an era when headliners were the real deal with The Whitest Boy Alive, Erol Alkan, Justice, MSTRKRFT and more ruling the touring circuit.

The Klaxons last toured Australia in 2010.
