John Smith and Devin Hardy make up the electronic music duo, TastyTreat, an upcoming California based group of producers that create an innovative concoction of future bass, jersey club music, R&b and more. On their new collaborative release they’ve joined forces with New York vocalist Father Dude [who was also featured on Slumberjack’s recent premier] on “Up Late” a catchy new record that oozes with soul. Starting off, Father Dude’s smooth vocals alongside some lush synthesizers will initially catch your attention but as the bass comes into play with a jersey club style kick and some percussion the vibes change up. Back comes the almost creepy musical jewelry box from the intro, backed by an Outkast-ish sounding horn section that leads into a fidgety, jersey club / future bass hybrid filled with an immaculate sound design.
