#1 on Resident Advisor’s most charted artists list, Sidney Charles is taking his infatuation with classic 4/4 club sounds on tour around Australia, starting later this month.

Born Sidney Charles Hurricane Vieljans (yes, really) his forray into house and techno began with DJing hip-hop, soul and funk. Of course when he found his niche and first released music in 2011 everything fell into place. In three years he has managed to release music on Avotre, 8bit, I Am A House Gangster, Moda Black, Off, VIVa, Kling Klong, SCI+TEC, Suara and Area Remote, its going to be interesting how far Charles’ star will rise.

The German native is most comfortable behind the decks, taking punters on a journey through his experiences, his love of culture and his obsession with music. This obsession overflows into his A&R role for Santé’s burgeoning Avotre imprint and he continues to throw parties in  Hamburg, Germany to have a little extra fun on the side. If you like early ‘90s house, jacking beats, heavy kicks and dirty highs then Sidney Charles isn’t one to miss.
