Police Make 74 Drug Detections At New South Wales Doof

NSW Police have been left shaking their heads and “disappointed” after confiscating a serious haul of illegal drugs from punters attending NSW doof Dragon Dreaming over the weekend.

Up to 74 drug detections were made and all kinds of narcotics taken with everything from heroin to ice and magic mushrooms seized alongside more common drugs Cannabis and ecstasy.

With two drug detection dogs and 18 officers on hand for the three-day psytrance festival Police were shocked to have “17 people found with prohibited drugs in the first two hours of the operation.” – keen beans or what?

Looks like next year might be a little tougher to run with Inspector Evan Quarmby from The Hume Local Area Command noting “To end up with 74 drug detections is a major concern and police will work closely with festival organisers to ensure future events are safe for everyone attending.”

Without many recorded instances of serious injuries or deaths, aside from that kid who fell 80m trying to sneak into a doof in June do you think that many officers are needed? Should the responsibility be on festival organisers who’s livelihood is at stake if anything happened?

With the popularity of doofs and the season warming up we recommend those attending earthcore, Subsonic, Strawberry Fields and more to play it safe, look after your friends and play safe!
