Jamie xx Confirms There Will Definitely Be A New Album From The xx

Add a sigh of relief to your to-do list with Jamie xx confirming there will be a new album on the way from brooding electronic trio The xx.

Revealing to Fader on Monday, he explained that the next album is “coming” and “feels a lot more free than when we were making the last record.”

This can be pinned down to a more relaxed touring schedule post the release of their highly acclaimed ‘Coexist’ album back in 2012 with Jamie adding “I think the most inspiring thing, really, is just not being anywhere crazy and just being at home.”.

Without a release date you’d have to expect it to land sometime in 2015, especially after with the frontman noting that “We’ve got quite a lot of songs that are not finished” adding “but I’m excited about it,”.

Same goes for his debut solo album that after three years of work is nearing completion although still hanging out for a vocal on one track and sadly those characteristic steel drums will only feature once.

Those in Australia will hopefully catch a sneak peek of the new stuff with Jamie xx playing both Falls Festival and New Years Day party Field Day in Sydney alongside Cashmere Cat, Dillon Francis, Milky Chance, Danny Brown and many more.

Now, how big of a cheque do you think Hugo Boss are going to cut over that blatant rip off for a recent television ad?
