Today, on this steaming hot sticky Thursday, Aussie/Kiwi boys, Terace, have e-sat down to shed some (music) light on your week. Casting good vibes all over the country through 5 (okay 6 #rulebenders) tracks.
1. Caribou – Can’t Do Without You
Where? Amsterdam, Netherlands
Whole new album is absolutely out of control, but this single dropped just before we headed over to Amsterdam for Dekmantel. Daphni (Dan from Caribou) was DJing and the entire festival pretty much imploded when he dropped this. Encapsulation of a European summer anthem.
2. Andre Bratten – Trommer Og Bass
Where? Berlin – Germany
Scrambled to know the name of this song at 3 different clubs, 3 different times… The first being Tresor in Berlin. A big fucking arrogant noisy techno monster. Wish you could get away with playing this kind of racket down under.
3. Jungle – Busy Earnin’
Where? Lisbon, Portugal
After the madness of central Europe we headed as far West as possible to chill. Heard this randomly in a cafe and the groove instantly stuck in my head. Hadn’t heard of Jungle before that but they quickly earned themselves a new fan.
4. The Presets – No Fun (Golden Features Remix)
Where? Perth, Australia
Recently supported Tchami at the awesome Ambar over in Perth. Amazing night, amazing club. This track really worked on the floor there, and the original is up there with one of The Presets all time best IMO (and that’s saying something).5. Aphex Twin – Minipops
Where? Auckland, New Zealand
Back in NZ we were in the studio recently finishing off some new original stuff. Played a gig that night and invariably ended up at a house party as you do in Auckland, and as you also do in Auckland, someone put the new Aphex Twin record on. Still the master, basically makes you wonder why you are even bothering with producing, in a good way.
6. Miami Horror – Wild Motion (Terace Remix)
Where? Sydney, Australia
We originally got the parts to this when I was over in London and we were going back and forth with ideas but came to a dead end with it and nearly didn’t finish it. Finally got some time back in Sydney and decided to revisit the project and ended up finishing it back and forth between here and NZ remotely. Pretty happy with how it came out in the end!
