Troye Sivan – Happy Little Pill (Flaxo Remix)

Well s&^t, have I been living under a rock? My last hour has been spent researching the acting and musical stylings of Perth based bro Troye Sivan who has reached internets hall of fame (lock up your cats). I’m not kidding you, my newly discovered YouTube sensation has a whopping 2.3 million subscribers, a cameo on the pre Walt Disney owned Star Wars (Gen X’s new biblical timeline reference) as well as an EP released dubbed TRYXE.

With a meagre 110 fans on our neglected YouTube channel and the premiere of a TRXYE remix, I feel it’s now a suitable time to reinvent myself and channel my inner internet star. So without further ado, I introduce you to my new persona ‘DXVE’ and my review of TRXYE’s, FLAXO remix. (For the sake of making it a triple X threat of no kind but some kind of awesomeness at the same time)

1. The Original

To understand the remix I dipped into the original. Yeah cool, just a casual 4.4 million SoundCloud plays. Got to admit, I was expecting some typically poppy crap but I was pleasantly surprised. Dramatic and fun with some catchy ass lyrics. This dude is a socially engaged entrepreneur with a good voice and a fantastic idea for what his fans would love and a good idea of what flies at the mo.

2. the Flaxo Remix

Ellusive New York producer Flaxo takes Troye’s track and turns it into a haunted lullaby. The off centre chimes and mischievous synth prods lead to a heavy contemporary almost post dubstep chorus. I don’t advise listening to this before going to bed because it may induce some kind of psychedelic nightmare dream or move you into the next dimension (ok, that could be a good thing?).

You can tell when someone just gets it and he + his remix buddy FLAXO do. So, what’s next guys?
