With Soundcloud fast becoming every listeners online destination (bar a few hiccups), we’ve noticed artists uploading older material that was getting kids buzzed pre-the-platforms days.

When searching out a gem from the Australian duo for our ‘5 Australia Collabs We’d Love To See’ feature we stumbled upon a recent upload of The Presets debut album ‘Beams’ to their Soundcloud account.

To really make you feel old the album was made all the way back in 2005, that’s almost a decade ago. To put it in perspective that same year Youtube was officially launched in the US, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire hits the cinemas and we still had black and white ipods – crazy!

What makes ‘Beams’ so special? The whole damn thing! With numerous hits including “Are You The One” running alongside “Down Down Down” and “Girl and the Sea” of course. Although we can’t forget “Kitty in the Middle”, “Girl” and “I Go Hard I Go Home” to make it a serious debut effort and a lightening bolt moment for Australian dance music.
