Officially hear the first song from Aphex Twin’s ‘SYRO’ now

Just premiered on BBC Radio 1 by Zane Low, the first tune to officially make it out into the airwaves from Aphex Twin’s highly-anticipated SYRO has landed. Track #1 minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]” is streaming below, and according to Warp is “the first Aphex Twin dong fore 13 years between the publication of the first a formal music.” Weird way to say it but it’s true; this’ll be the first record in over a decade from the man who wrote " target="_blank">the best song ever back in 1992.

It comes after four tunes from the record were realised by fans to have been playing for years following the announcement and details by Robert D. James of the LP through the Silk Road-affiliated deep web.  If you’ve preordered ‘Syro’ on iTunes, log in to your account from midnight tonight to download “minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]” immediately. Like every man and his dog knows, the rest of SYRO will be out September 19.

There’s been a heap of hype for this record; I think this first single will definitely separate the new Aphex Twin bandwagoner’s from the original day-one fans. It’s eerie, mysterious yet strangely beautiful, but it won’t be what people expect from an album that’s been in the spotlight as much as it has been
