Kaytranada has responded to a fans request for him to get back to making ‘Hip Hop’ and steer away from ‘EDM’ with the Canadian beat maker offering some kindly advice in return.

It looks to have all began rather abruptly when posed with the question request by an anonymous source “when are you gonna start producing hip hop and stop going all edm on us” obviously unaware K always has and will stay true his roots in the genre.

K responded in the best way possible talking up studio time with legends and how far the ‘EDM’ arm reaches;

Fuck hip hop. i was in the studio with Mobb Deep, Vic Mensa and Om’mas Keith yesterday. I gave Mobb Deep some edm shit for their album. edm music all day bruh bruh.

Although we definitely think he’s taking the piss at anyone even accusing him of producing ‘EDM’ or anything like it, K has more recently moved away from his core beats stuff and into more heavily electronic realms with ‘editions’ or remixes of Tensnake, MNEK, Chet Faker and more.

Either way you look at it, if Kaytranada keeps producing fire like he has been solidly for the past few months we’ve got no issues.
