Flux Pavilion To Officially Remix Star Wars Track

It’s not everyday you get the likes of Disney approaching you to remix a Star Wars theme, but that’s what has happened to dubstep purveyor Flux Pavilion, who has stepped in to a spin off animated series dubbed ‘Star Wars Rebels’.

The idea is to help connect the new movie with younger fans and, probably, to capitalise on the exploding dance culture in the US and worldwide, with Flux’s offering to touch up the ‘Rebels Theme’ from the cartoon. Taking a listen to the original below we’re actually pretty excited to hear what he’ll do with the orchestral piece and who else might be involved!

Even though Disney and Deadmau5 had a bit of tiff over the ears this isn’t the first time the production company have approached dance music stars with similar duties: Kaskade, Mat Zo, Armin Van Buuren and more have remixed songs from a whole swag of movies from their back catalogue.

More recently, OWSLA boss Skrillex not only scored, but featured in the animated great Wreck It Ralph with a sa-weet asymmetrical haircut and black-framed glasses.

And of course, we can’t forget the TRON Legacy ‘Reconfigured’ soundtrack in which newfangled Daft Punk tracks were remixed by everyone from Moby to Boys Noize, as well as Com Truise, Photek and even Paul Oakenfield.

May the wubs be with you.
