FBI Radio Announces Northern Lights Winners To Play Icelandic Festival

Winners have been announced for FBI Radio’s Northern Lights competition in which artists won a chance to perform alongside The Knife, Jungle, WhoMadeWho’s Thomas Barfod and more at Icelands Airwaves Festival.

With over 600 entries it wasn’t going to be easy to pick winners for their annual Northern Lights competition in which acts had to submit music to the Sydney independent radio station for a panel to judge and select with music director Stephen Goodhew blown away by the depth of quality on show;

“It’s no secret that Australia punches way above its weight when it comes to the quality of our home grown talent. To be able to take a couple of our favourite emerging artists and show them off at an international festival, alongside some of the most respected names in music, is a huge opportunity that we’re proud to offer”.

One of the winners in particular is the fascinating Melbourne producer LUCIANBLOMKAMP who post releasing his debut album ‘Post Nature’ last week on YES PLEASE records has nabbed one of the coveted spots.

His brand of tightly spun electronic beats, jazzy fusion and raw emotion will see him rise in notoriety within the Australian dance scene in the next 12 months and onward.

The other was ‘psychedelic south coast’ band The Walking Who who will join LUCIANBLOMKAMP in November for the 3-day festival.

Congrats to both winners and don’t forget your bloody turtlenecks!
