XXXY – Goldfish / Evade [Ten Thousand Yen]

Following up from his release with Rinse in early May with ‘Never Enough’ and ‘No More’, XXXY (Rupert Taylor) is back, this time with a acid-laced techno gem titled ‘Goldfish’. The Brit has continued his rich vein of form, this time working on the ever-innovative Ten Thousand Yen imprint, run by fellow British magnate Doc Daneeka.

‘Goldfish’ immediately grabs your attention with a pulsating bassline complimented by a striking and echoing chord, which then leads into some percussion work to really get the vibe going. The minute mark signals the serious business as the sporadic and haunting vocals make their presence known through its acid influence coming to the fore with some intricate synth work.

Another release primed for the smoke-ridden dancefloors from XXXY – pure class.
