Thom Yorke plays surprise DJ set to 30 people

Thirty people were definitely not singing ‘I do not belong here’ in Cornwall on Saturday night, when Radiohead’s Thom Yorke dropped by to North England’s answer to Lollapalooza, Leopalooza – that dubs itself “the best house party in a field”.

Creeping up for a DJ set at 12.30, Yorke played to the small crowd, most of who we can assume were creaming themselves. The Evening Standard quotes an onlooker as saying “He’s probably the most influential artist of the past decade and here he is prepping to play to half a dozen drunk hippies.”

Reports that Yorke was pushed into dancing with the small congregation said hippies is yet to be confirmed, although we can confirm that ‘many…had no idea who he was’. FACE PALM.

Although Yorke plays gets behind the decks regularly, only a few are of this secretive calibre. We can only wonder what kind of tracks he pulled out of the bag. Sly.

Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood did confirm in July that the band were in fact getting back together to start work on their next album – huzzah!

Strangely no footage has surfaced but below is a snap when Thom played a secret afterparty in Sydney at Goodgod Small Club after a performance by the band back in 2012.
