It’s with sadness that Stockholm based indietronica duo The Knife are calling it quits, abandoning there almost 2 million SoundCloud followers.

Pitchfork spotted the news via an interview with Dazed in which one half of the brother-sister pairing Karin Dreijer revealed “When we finish the tour now in November we will close down, it’s our last tour, we don’t have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun.”

In their long tenure since 1999, the Swedish based outfit released an incredible four studio albums most notedly including their acclaimed self-titled debut LP and their latest  ‘Shaking The Habitual’.

Touring wise they rarely travelled outside of Europe although did perform at last years Coachella while unfortunately never making the trip down under.
